Public beta
Privacy Policy

The short version
Spin My Shelf is designed to keep reading shelves private. Guest shelves stay on the device. Signed-in shelves are stored in Supabase so they can sync between devices. We do not sell personal data and the beta does not collect payments.
Information we handle
Guest mode stores shelf choices, saved places, and app preferences in the browser. Account mode may store an email address, profile name, private shelf, book preferences, spins, journal notes, saved places, and venue suggestions. Google sign-in is handled by Google and Supabase.
Reader files and private circles
Files opened in the local Reader stay on the device and are not uploaded by Spin My Shelf. During beta, custom spin rituals, reading goals, and private circle notes are also stored on the device. Secure account sync and invitations will only open after the protected backend tables and access rules are deployed and tested.
Location and weather
Location is optional. Live reading weather is requested only after the reader chooses to use it. Coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve current weather and are not stored by Spin My Shelf. Cozy Corner can be searched by typing a city without sharing live location.
External services
The beta uses Supabase for accounts and synced data, Google OAuth for optional sign-in, Open Library and Google Books for catalog results and covers, Open-Meteo for optional weather, Google Maps links, and optionally Google Places for live venue search. Those services apply their own privacy terms.
Venue suggestions and moderation
Signed-in readers may suggest real public venues. Suggestions remain private until reviewed. Approved venue details, sources, maps, and photos may become public, but the reader's private shelf is never published.
Your choices
Readers can use guest mode, decline location access, sign out, remove books, and request account-data access or deletion by contacting spinmyshelfapp@yahoo.com.
